He said the $445,000 for PsycInfo and the newspaper database is the maximum the Regents will have. He hopes the bid process will bring good news and the databases are within the amount of funds available.

ODL Report – Ms. Sullivan reiterated what Dr. Davis said about the budget. She said the budget situation is not good news for the state. She said they anticipate a 5% cut plus an additional 10% in travel funds. She discussed how ODL wants to protect the federal dollars because that’s what pays for the statewide databases.

ODL’s fiscal year began last October but they do not yet have the total federal appropriations. They will move forward on the assumption it will be the same as last year. The awarding of the statewide contract for databases will be mid to late May and be effective July 1, 2009 .

OLA Update – Ms. Saulmon discussed the upcoming OLA conference being held in Midwest City April 20-22, 2009. ALA’s National Library Week slogan this year is “Worlds Connect @ Your Library”.
