UCO's 2011 Central Family of the Year

The University of Central Oklahoma Alumni Association recognized the Doug Duke family as the 2011 Central Family of the Year during the university's Homecoming 2011 Alumni Recognition Ceremony on Sept. 30. The award is given annually to a family who has a long line of members who have attended and/or graduated from Central and continue to stay involved with the university. Duke was a debate coach and communications professor at Central for nearly four decades. Two of his sons, Drew and Grant Duke, graduated from Central, and his grandchildren Hunter and Spencer Duke are current students at Central. Today, Drew Duke works at Central as executive director of Student Financial Services. Drew said his work is inspired by his father, who believed strongly in education and the mission of Central.
