Advisory Board Meeting Notice
The next SSHER Center Advisory Board meeting will be at 10 a.m., Friday, Jan. 13, 2007, in the Regents Conference Room at the Oklahoma State Regents for Higher Education, 655 Research Parkway, Suite 200, Oklahoma City.

Advisory Board Vacancy
Please consider serving as an officer of the SSHER center. Our secretary, Don Powers, has tendered his resignation. Powers has accepted additional responsibilities in the UCO Office of Legal Counsel, which will not permit him to continue serving as secretary.

The secretary is an active participant and voting member at both regular board meetings and executive committee meetings. The secretary also keeps the minutes for all meetings. If you would like to take a more active role in the management of the SSHERC, and if you are willing to devote the necessary time and energy, please consider this as your opportunity. It is important that this position be filled at the first available opportunity by a majority vote of the Advisory Board members present and voting. Contact Tim Stiger or Pam Boatright if you are interested in serving in this position.

Training Materials - Videos
The Video Library page under the "Training Resources" page is being updated. If a member has a video request and does not see one for the desired subject, please contact the coordinator rather than using the online request form. There are a large number of new titles available.

Moodle
The course management system, Moodle, has now been installed on the Regents' server. It will be populated with several online safety courses. The goal is to have a test run of the system by Dec. 1, 2006.

Big 12 Safety Directors' Meeting
In spring 2007, the Oklahoma State Regents for Higher Education, the University of Oklahoma and Oklahoma State University are proud to host the annual Big 12 Safety Directors' Meeting. A date has not yet been determined. Because 2007 is the centennial year for Oklahoma, it is an excellent opportunity to show off our state to this important group of visitors.

PEOSH News
As of June 25, 2006, the Public Employees Occupational Safety and Health division of the Oklahoma Department of Labor is authorized to request additional injury record keeping data from public employers. This information includes, but is not limited to, amounts and types of injuries and illnesses, experience modification rates, workers compensation premiums and claims information, and injury and illness case characteristics and demographics. ODOL is working on a new form on which the requested information will be submitted, perhaps as soon as next calendar year.

The new PEOSH Director is Thomas Reyenga. He can be reached at 405.528.1500, ext. 226. The statewide toll-free number is 888.269.5353, ext. 226. His e-mail is treyenga@oklaosf.state.ok.us. Reyenga recently spoke with campus safety representatives at the fall SSHERC/OCSA meeting on Sept. 22, 2006.
