Remediation Rates by Tier

The remediation rate of Oklahoma 2009 high school graduates at the research university level in Oklahoma (Oklahoma State University and the University of Oklahoma) was very low – less than 8 percent composite across all subjects. This is due primarily to higher admission standards, including standardized test scores.

Regional universities had remediation rates of 39 percent for the same group, with math being the subject requiring the most remediation.

Two-year colleges that are open admission campuses have higher remediation rates (56.5 percent for 2009-10 Oklahoma high school graduates).
