Special Alliances

Oklahoma Aviation Alliance
The Oklahoma Aviation and Aerospace Educational Alliance provides students with the opportunity to enroll in and receive college credit for programs specifically designed to meet the workforce needs of the aviation and aerospace industry, such as power frame, air frame, avionics and airport management. Oklahoma corporations, public colleges and universities, career technology centers and public schools formed the Oklahoma Aviation and Aerospace Educational Alliance to improve overall quality, effectiveness and efficiency of aviation and aerospace programs. Child Development
The Scholars for Excellence in Child Care (Scholars) program is a partnership with the Department of Human Services. It allows each of our community colleges, as well as OSU-OKC, to have a scholar coordinator on campus who recruits eligible child care providers from licensed facilities. The child care providers benefit by having an opportunity to advance their education in the field of early childhood. Child care professionals can take courses leading to a Child Development Associate (CDA) credential, a Certificate of Mastery, an 18-credit hour certificate consisting of 15 hours of early childhood education/child development and English Comp, or an associate of science/arts degree in early childhood education or child development. A Director’s Certificate of Mastery (a 24-hour certificate) is available through OSU-OKC. For more information, visit the Scholars Program Web site at www.okhighered.org/scholars.

Oklahoma Partnership for Industry and Education (OPIE)
A partnership between ConocoPhillips, DitchWitch, MerCruiser, OG&E and other industries and several colleges, universities and career technology centers has resulted in the creation of 10 new associate of applied science degree programs, established and implemented to address specific needs of those industries. This collaboration is providing a highly trained, well-educated workforce for businesses that are vital to northern Oklahoma. OPIE Scholarships are also available. For more information and to apply, download the scholarship packet (PDF, 308k). For more information about OPIE, contact Connie Lake, the Oklahoma State Regents for Higher Education's assistant vice chancellor of workforce and economic development, 405.225.9159.
