Cooperative Agreements
Students have the opportunity to earn college credit
while enrolled in courses at career technology centers through cooperative
agreements signed by the Oklahoma State Regents for Higher Education and the
Oklahoma Department of Career Technology. Participating state higher education
institutions and career technology centers work together to allow Oklahoma
students to receive college credit by successfully completing career technology
courses that qualify for college credit.
Health Care Professionals
A statewide partnership similar to OPIE is being established to develop more
and enhance current health care programs in public education institutions
to address the critical nursing shortage. Including, three other areas of
Allied Health shortages, these are radiology technology, respiratory care
technology and pharmacology.
The partnerships will consist of one to three hospital associations, four-year universities, community colleges, career technology centers and high schools. GEAR UP and EPAS will be partners in working with high schools.
The State Regents are in the process of developing an articulation agreement utilizing the radiology technology and respiratory care technology AAS degree program at Rose State College that will be delivered to the Southeastern Oklahoma State University campus. Students will enroll at SOSU and take all the general education courses and then co-enroll at RSC for all the technical courses that will be delivered online.

Oklahoma Partners for Industry and Education
The OPIE Consortium in Ponca City involves several institutions to
develop programs and internships in manufacturing. The four charter industry
partners are Conoco, DitchWitch, Oklahoma Gas and Electric and Mercury Marine.
The current education partners include Northern Oklahoma College, Northeastern
State University, Pioneer Technology Center and Autry Technology Center.
This group has worked together to develop an engineering technology-process technology option, an industrial technology-mechanical technology option and an electronics technology-electrical engineering technician option. (These are Associate of Applied Science degree's that have the aforementioned technical options)
Three public high schools are being added to the OPIE group and will begin implementing industry-developed applications into the high school math and science curriculum directed toward the Priority Academic Student Skills (PASS).
