
Marlin "Ike" Glass was appointed as a State Regent by Gov. Frank Keating in April 1997, serving a nine-year term ending in May 2006. In May 2007, he was reappointed by Gov. Brad Henry for a second nine-year term. Glass is president of Glass Trucking, Inc. in Newkirk.
Glass earned a bachelor's degree in personnel administration in 1961 from Oklahoma State University. He is a veteran of the Korean conflict, having served in the U.S. Navy from 1952 to 1956.
Glass currently serves on the on the boards for the Oklahoma State Chamber of Commerce, the Oklahoma Trucking Association, the Oklahoma Heritage Association, the OSU Alumni Association and Pioneer Bank and Trust. He is also chairman of the Oklahoma Transportation Center, a joint venture between the University of Oklahoma and OSU to unite business, research and education on transport problems in Oklahoma and throughout the nation.
Glass was inducted into OSU’s Business Hall of Fame and the Newkirk High School Hall of Fame. He is active in many civic and community organizations, including the Disabled American Veterans, American Legion, Navy Leagues and Cowboys for Higher Education.
Glass and his wife Marybeth, also an OSU graduate, have two children, Rob and Jennifer, who are OSU graduates.
