What Is the Child Development Associate (CDA)?

The CDA is a national credential awarded by the Council for Professional Recognition to child care professionals who have successfully completed the CDA assessment process.

Who Can Get the Scholarship and How Much Is It?

The CDA Assessment Scholarship is available to eligible child care professionals seeking to obtain the national CDA Credential. The scholarship pays 80 percent of the assessment fee. Additionally, the scholarship awards a $200 educational stipend to those who successfully complete the assessment process and are awarded the CDA Credential and additionally are eligible for REWARD Oklahoma.

Note: Employees from school-age or federally funded child care programs are not eligible to participate in the scholarship.

Eligibility Requirements

* CDA training completed prior to March 31, 2007, will be accepted for the CDA Assessment Scholarship as long as training is within the last five years. Out-of-state CDA training is considered on a case-by-case basis.
