American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 (ARRA)

The ARRA was enacted by Congress and signed into law by President Barack Obama to stimulate the U.S. economy. The law provides funding and grant opportunities to the states in the areas of education, health, transportation, public safety, energy, the environment, economic development and housing, among others. It contains income tax relief for American taxpayers and provides new financing opportunities for the states.

In order to meet and exceed the requirements of ARRA, ensure an efficient, productive and transparent use of taxpayer dollars, and maximize the benefits to the state of Oklahoma, Gov. Brad Henry created a coordinating council to manage, monitor and report on Oklahoma’s efforts to implement ARRA.
