It’s a big step to return to college so you can complete your degree. But you’re not alone. In fall 2009, 36 percent of students enrolled in Oklahoma public colleges and universities were 25 or older.
Jobs, families and other obligations can make it difficult to go back to college, but Oklahoma's public universities have expanded programs that will fit into your busy life and are needed in today’s workplace.
Several schools also have opened branches in communities across the state to give you easier access to the courses you need. A study conducted by the National Center for Higher Education Systems shows that 93 percent of Oklahoma's population lives within 30 miles of a college or university campus.
Also, to better meet the needs of adult students and Oklahoma businesses, the State Regents have partnered with CAEL, the Council on Adult and Experiential Learning. The State Regents and CAEL are determining how Oklahoma colleges and universities can provide businesses and their employees with educational programs designed specifically for a certain field.
