Dr. Eithel Simpson
Southwestern Oklahoma State University
Dr. Eithel M. Simpson is an assistant professor in marketing at Southwestern Oklahoma State University. She has been teaching retailing, marketing and business communication for 28 years. Her teaching career includes positions at the University of Oklahoma, University of Tennessee, Knoxville, and Purdue University. She is now teaching at SWOSU, near her hometown of Thomas.
Simpson received bachelor's and master's degrees in apparel design and apparel merchandising from Oklahoma State University. Her Ph.D. was earned at OU in the field of organizational communication.
Simpson has a number of published research studies and professional presentations focusing on consumer behavior, international retailing and business communication. She also works with a variety of retail businesses in an advising capacity. Recently, she helped develop new merchandise management techniques, inventory plans, merchandise displays and advertising strategies for the gift shop at the General Thomas P. Stafford Air and Space Museum in Weatherford. She is a member of the American Collegiate Retailers Association, Delta Kappa Gamma and Rotary.
