Dr. Hossein Sarjeh-Payma is an associate professor of economics/finance at Langston University-Tulsa. He has taught at the University of Oklahoma, Oklahoma City University and St. Gregory’s University. His academic degrees include a doctorate and a master's in economics from OU and a bachelor's in business administration/finance from Tehran University. He graduated from Tehran University with the highest G.P.A. He also holds a master's degree in environmental science from the OU.
Sarjeh-Payma served as the director of the economics/finance program at LU's main campus from 1984-1992. During this period under the Title III program, he was instrumental in laying groundwork in proposing, developing and implementing the Bachelor of Science progam in economics and the Bachelor of Business Administration program in economics/finance. His areas of expertise include principles of economics, business statistics, production/operations management, financial management, money and banking, managerial economics, and international economics.
Sarjeh-Payma has been involved in several community activities, such as serving as president of the Asia Society of Oklahoma, Inc. (2001, 2002 and 2006). He has been the recipient of several awards, including Outstanding Student at Tehran University (Silver Medallion in Education), Outstanding Teacher at LU, and Outstanding Member and Outstanding President of ASO. He has also been awarded several grants, fellowships and scholarships.
