Cynthia Foust, Ph.D., R.N., C. is associate provost for academic and student affairs at Southwestern Oklahoma State University in Weatherford and, until 2004, taught in the SWOSU School of Nursing for more than 25 years. Her responsibilities include student affairs services, management of regional and professional accreditation, and institutional effectiveness through strategic planning. Her formal education includes the University of Central Oklahoma with a B.S. in Nursing, followed by an M.S. from the University of Oklahoma and a Ph.D. from Texas Woman's University.

Foust has taught both hybrid and online courses in communication, human relationships, leadership and management, and statistics and research-based practice. Critical thinking, decision making, problem solving and stress management are just some of the components of courses taught.

Foust is a member of the American Association of University Women, American Nurses Association, Bethany Brethren in Christ Church, Higher Education Alumni Council of Oklahoma, National League for Nursing, Oklahoma Nurses Association, Rotary International and Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society. She served as past-president of the Oklahoma Board of Nursing and continues to consult for them as a professional provider with the Peer Assistance Program.
