Oklahoma Global Education
The focus of global education is the relationship of the world's cultures and systems and the connections of human beings and their common fate, regardless of the national boundaries within which they live.
Oklahoma's diverse education heritage has been forged by challenges and a pioneering spirit. From one-room schoolhouses to our modern classrooms that are some of the nation's most technologically advanced, Oklahoma educators always look beyond the horizon.
Today's learners travel into cyberspace to gather information as well as participate in globalized commerce. There is a whole new world to learn about – one in which we are more acutely aware and engaged. Educators and learners alike are ambassadors who manifest the intent of our schooling systems and share fundamental traits of our communities, creating a wider and deeper international reservoir for student learning. Oklahoma Study Abroad (opens in new window) is a statewide initiative that operates as an informational clearinghouse for students looking for a study-abroad program within the state’s higher education institutions.
Within each institution’s user-friendly database site, students and other interested constituents are able to easily maneuver and sort through a wide assortment of categories, disciplines and/or by each country’s specialty area(s).
