Sharon called the meeting to order at 1:00 p.m. and greeted the remote locations. Everyone introduced themselves and told of happenings at their institutions.

Minutes from the March 9, 2004 meeting were approved.

Committee Reports
Cooperative Collection Dev and Resource Sharing – Bonnie McNeely: She has prepared the spreadsheet report of what electronic databases all institutions are subscribing to, some gave cost, some did not. She reported it needs clean up, but the goal is to see how much overlap there is and to see if OCALD could get a discount. Newsbank renewal is complete. PsychInfo renewal is up in January.

Web Page – Cindy Pollard: Cindy encouraged everyone to help her keep the OCALD web pages up-to-date.

OK-Share - Beth Freeman: 35 institutions reported activity.

Expanded Instructional Support – Allen McKiel: Gave a CLIP update.

By-Laws Revision – Daphane Kerley: Contact Daphane with questions or to get a copy of the by-laws.

Regents Report
Shelley Howell, Coordinator of Academic Affairs Projects, filled in for Phil Moss. Shelley reported a new Regent and new officers. She reported a new Vice Chancellor of Academic Affairs, Bill McHenry. Regents have revived Candid Campus. She also reported a joint effort between Northern and OSU-Stillwater.

ODL Report
Susan McVey gave an update on state legislators and discussed OLA Legislative Day. OCALD needs new appointments to the OLTN Advisory Council. There were six volunteers to replace outgoing members. The new reps:

Evelyn Schmidt talked about OLA’s University/College Division’s salary survey and the deadline for UCD’s paper/poster session for the OLA Conference.

Sharon announced that OCALD has an anonymous rep for an ODL committee for the selection of a new statewide catalog vendor. Forward any suggestions to Sharon.

Sharon discussed a schedule of meetings for the year. The next meeting with be Nov. 18, 2004, then Legislative Day, and late April. The dinner during OLA will be a joint dinner with the Public Library Directors.

ODL wants to know if OCALD wants more EBSCO training. There was a suggestion to have administrator training, one in OKC and one in Tulsa.

Marty discussed a bill that Istook is behind to make NIH funded scientific literature(articles) open access and limit embargo period. He suggested we write to Istook and voice our support. OCALD voted to have Sharon draft a letter from OCALD in support of the bill.

Sharon adjourned the meeting at 2:25 p.m.
