SWOSU and CDF Associates receive OCAST award
Southwestern Oklahoma State University recently received a $58,190 grant for an Oklahoma Center for the Advancement of Science and Technology Internship Partnership Award.
Michael Carolina, executive director of OCAST, said SWOSU will work in partnership with CDF Associates, Inc., in Weatherford to manage a project for developing software applications in the health care delivery business environment.
Dr. Harpal Dhillon at SWOSU is the principal investigator and Dean Bortell is the co-principal investigator.
The OCAST Intern Partnership awards are designed to encourage Oklahoma college students to prepare for careers in scientific and technical fields. They also encourage technology transfer between Oklahoma’s two-year and four-year higher education institutions and local industry.
As in other OCAST funding competitions, the Intern Partnership proposals are evaluated according to stringent criteria by experts from outside Oklahoma.
“Because the OCAST board only approves funding for the proposals ranked highest by the reviewers, Southwestern Oklahoma State University is to be commended for its success in this competitive program,” Carolina said.
