Eastern agriculture judging teams repeat national championships Not only are national championships for Eastern Oklahoma State College's Agriculture Judging teams nothing new, they are, in recent years, becoming a habit. The Soils Judging team from the Wilburton college recently captured the National Championship for the fourth straight year during competition at the National Association of Colleges and Teachers of Agriculture (NACTA) in Norfolk, NE. The five team members captured the top five individual placings in soils judging with sophomore team member Sky Storey from Haworth being named as the top soil judger in the nation for the second year in a row. Other Eastern teams capturing first place academic honors this year at the NACTA contest were the Livestock Judging Team and the Agriculture Quiz Bowl Team. The Livestock Team swept first place in all judging categories to complete the convincing win and the Agriculture Quiz Bowl team finished first in double elimination competition with only one loss. Eastern's Crops Judging Team and Dairy Judging Team both placed a respectable second in their respective contests. "This is a virtually unprecedented sweep through the national contest," Eastern President Dr. Richard Bernard said. "All of Eastern can be truly proud." |
