| RSC 'Dream Team' visits Oklahoma City elementary
With the goal of developing a strong foundation in math and science, members of the Rose State College Engineering and Science Division have assembled the "Dare to Dream Team." The team's goal is to help implement extracurricular math and science activities at public and private schools throughout the metro area. Two members of the RSC team recently spent an afternoon at Oklahoma City's Willow Brook Elementary, conducting a session on the proper way to plot points on a graph. RSC Math Professors Disa Beaty and Linda Tucker visited with Carrie Lawson's fourth grade class. They demonstrated creating pictures by plotting specific points on a graph and challenged the young students to draw their own creations using the same graphing techniques. The nine-member "Dare to Dream Team" represents a variety of fields from math to astronomy and are available for classroom demonstrations at area public schools. Team members are RSC Engineering and Science Division Dean Jamie Graham, Associate Dean Dawcett Middleton, Professors Michael Adams, Disa Beaty, Steve Carano, Chad Ellington, Jim Gilbert, Dan Ratcliff and Linda Tucker.
