OPSU Aggie Athletes Make the Grade

The Heartland Conference released honor rolls for 2013-14, and Oklahoma Panhandle State University had strong representation with 37 student athletes making the list.

Each year the conference recognizes student-athletes’ commitment to academic excellence by naming those who have achieved a 3.5+ GPA to the President’s Honor Roll and those earning a 3.0+ GPA to the Commissioner’s Honor Roll. This year over 1,000 students were named representing all 12 universities in the Heartland Conference.

Student athletes from six of the nine NCAA-Division II Heartland Conference sports that OPSU offers are represented on the honor roll including 13 from baseball, eight softball, eight volleyball, five women’s basketball, four men’s basketball and one women’s golf.

In addition to Heartland Conference recognition, Aggie athletes are also recognized by the university for their academic performance after each semester when OPSU releases the President’s and Dean’s Honor Rolls. The entire student body is represented including over 80 student athletes from all nine Heartland Conference teams as well as football, rodeo, equestrian and cheerleading.
