Bedlam Rivalry to Benefit Community Food Bank

Bedlam bragging rights and team spirit are on the line for the fifth annual Bedlam Canned Food Drive.

Oklahoma State University and University of Oklahoma fans will compete to see who can raise the most canned food donations now through Monday, Nov. 30 to benefit the Community Food Bank of Eastern Oklahoma.

Fans can score points for the Cowboys or Sooners by donating non-perishable food items at several locations around Tulsa. OSU-Tulsa, OSU’s Center for Health Sciences and OU-Tulsa will have drop boxes located on their campuses. Donations will also be accepted at Starbucks locations at 81 Street and Mingo Road and 71st Street and Garnett Road, as well as Spiffy’s Cleaners locations at 3201 S. Harvard, 5419 S. Harvard., 8090 S Yale Ave., and 10021 S Yale Ave.

Monetary donations are also accepted at the Food Bank’s website at www.cfbeo.org. A $1 donation equals two pounds of food. Participants can click on the “Donate Now” button and designate their donation as part of the Bedlam Canned Food Drive and whether their vote is for OSU or OU.

OU won the first competition in 2006, but OSU rallied for victories the past three years. During last year’s Bedlam food drive, OSU beat OU by 1,287 pounds. A total of 6,187 pounds of food was donated to the 450 Partner Programs served by the Food Bank.

The annual Bedlam food drive is sponsored by the Tulsa Chapter of the OSU Alumni Association and the OU Club of Tulsa.
