Nearly 100 Tour TCC's Center for Creativity Open House
Dozens of key business and higher education leaders gathered Oct. 21 to tour Tulsa Community College’s Center for Creativity at the TCC Metro Campus and meet the faculty and staff who facilitate learning in the new facility. Several members of the Oklahoma State Regents for Higher Education attended the open house event, including Chancellor Glen D. Johnson, who spoke during the program. Stuart Price, chair of the OSRHE, also spoke, explaining the financial and educational impact TCC has had on northeastern Oklahoma since opening in 1970. TCC has provided educational services to more than 450,000 people,” Price said. “Tonight we celebrate TCC’s newest investment -- the $22 million Center for Creativity -- and look forward to its impact on downtown Tulsa.” Mike Neal, president and CEO of the Tulsa Metro Chamber, told the crowd of nearly 100 that TCC is a key member and major economic entity in Tulsa. The evening concluded with Johnson speaking about the importance of TCC within the state’s higher education system. He said the Center for Creativity, as well as the Tulsa Achieves Program, are innovative investments in Oklahoma’s future. |
