Current and former students - spanning at least four generations in the
USAO family - joined on Sunday morning to dedicate the new 49er Chapel
Bridge, just west of the USAO Alumni Chapel. Members of the Class of 1949's
"Loyal Daughters," led by Flavia Brown Bare (up front, in long
white trench coat), presented the bridge to USAO and current students,
including Student Association President James Bare, who happens to be
her grandson. Despite the cold rain on an early weekend morning, five
students and more than 75 alums and guests attended to share in the ceremony.
On the second row, behind the Class of '49 members, are President John
Feaver and students Charley Arnold, Alex Russell, Adeel Sidiqui, Sean
Crowell and James Bare. On the front row are USAO First Lady Marilyn Feaver,
along with 49ers Frances Holman, Flavia Bare, Billie Jean Griffin, Phyllis
Hillery, Elzada Dobbs, Dorothy Kerbow and Rose Marie Smith.
