![]() An exhibit of prints by Dianne Haralson will be on display through October 24, 2003 in the Redlands Community College Art Gallery. “Humanity in an Accidental Universe” is a collection of prints from Haralson’s series “An Accidental Universe” where she strives to make the print become a three-way communication between her unconscious, her conscious, and the viewer. Haralson is an artist and printmaker, and draws from her deepest artistic unconscious, her deepest self, and the place from which she dreams. She states “Dreams hold more power for me than facts and provide a vivid color imagery that elicits a strong emotional response. I seek to integrate the memory of my nocturnal journeys into the creation of the finished work of art.” Her paintings have been exhibited at the Oklahoma Festival of the Arts in Oklahoma City, Mid-American Biannual Exhibition at the University of Kentucky in Owensboro, Kentucky, Works of Art on Paper at the Arkansas Art Center in Little Rock, Arkansas, Tennessee Homecoming Exhibition at the University of Tennessee in Knoxville, Tennessee, Xavier University Art Annual in Chicago, Illinois, the Dellora Norris Cultural Center in Saint Charles, Illinois, and the The Governor’s Gallery at the State Capitol in Oklahoma City. She currently is lecturing and is on the faculty at the Connors State College in Muskogee, Oklahoma. Haralson received her Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Tennessee, her Bachelor of Arts from Northeastern State University in Tahlequah, and her Masters of Arts from the University of Tulsa. She has done additional studies at the Oklahoma Summer Arts Institute, the University of Oklahoma, and completed an apprenticeship in Multiple Color Etching with Maurice R. Bebb of the The Bebb Studio in Muskogee, Oklahoma. She is the recipient of numerous honors and awards. The exhibition may be viewed from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday in the Redlands Gallery. Admission is free. For more information call 405-422-1235 or e-mail arts@redlandscc.edu.
