A Helping Hand

OSU student volunteers at the Humane Society.

Helping others in Oklahoma City has become a top priority for this year’s Student Government Association leaders at OSU-Oklahoma City as they plan, organize and involve themselves and other students in community service throughout the metro area. Through the university’s Students Organizing Service (SOS) program, SGA Vice President Chris Beaty was able to set up opportunities at locations that include the YWCA, Regional Food Bank of Oklahoma, Habitat for Humanity and the Oklahoma Humane Society. OSU-OKC students and SGA officers have spent countless hours of their free time cleaning, organizing, rearranging pantries, building houses, painting, playing with animals and, most of all, serving others.

Pictured are OSU-OKC students volunteering at the Oklahoma Humane Society during a recent SOS opportunity. Top row, from left: Rashida Jones-Frazier, Kameron Bunn, Lori Hasty, Austin Schudalla, Breanna Branch and Chris Beaty. Front row, from left: Wendy Lau and Allison Lockwood.
