Dr. Thomas Labé in Concert

Cameron University Professor of Music Thomas Labé will continue his series of popular outdoor piano recitals with a performance on Friday, June 17, at 8 p.m. in the Fine Arts Courtyard at Cameron University. There is no charge to attend. Audience members are encouraged to come early, bring lawn chairs and a picnic, and enjoy an evening with family, friends and music as the sun goes down. Parking is available in the University Theatre parking lot.

The program will include works by Bach, Medtner, Fauré and will conclude with the U.S. premiere of Labé’s own “Grand Fantasy on Themes from Puccini’s La Bohème.”

Labé is currently on a concert tour of Taiwan, performing five recitals, giving 12 master classes and the keynote address and a lecture-recital at an international conference on the editing of piano music in Taipei City. As a soloist, Labé has performed in recitals and with orchestras on three continents, including appearances with the Houston, Chattanooga and Kenosha Symphony Orchestras and in prestigious venues including New York's Carnegie Hall, Chicago's Ravinia Festival, the International Piano Festival Monterey (Mexico) and the Staatstheater Darmstadt (Germany).

As a recording artist, Labé’s growing discography of internationally released compact disc recordings are heard with great frequency on the playlists of classical music stations the world over.
