EVENT: RSC presents “The Fantasticks” The Rose State College Theatre Department, under the direction of Professor Rick Nelson, presents “The Fantasticks” Nov. 29, 30 and Dec. 1, 6, 7 and 8 at 7:30 p.m. and a matinee at 2 p.m. on Dec. 9. The performances will be held in the H.B. Atkinson Theatre on Campus. “The Fantasticks” is the longest-running musical in the world and the longest-running stage production of any kind in American theatre history. Having celebrated over 17,000 performances at the Sullivan Street Play house in Greenwich Village, “The Fantasticks” is freely adapted from Edmond Rostand’s 1894 play Les Romanesques. It tells an age-old tale of a boy, a girl, two parents and a wall. This bewitching musical comedy re-introduces such classic songs as “Try to Remember” and “Soon It’s Gonna Rain.” Ticket costs are $3 for the general public, free to RSC students, faculty, staff and senior citizens and $2 for all other students. Dinner Theatre will be held at 6 p.m. in the Student Center Main Dining room prior to the Nov.29 production. Cost for Dinner Theatre is $16 for general public, $14 for RSC students, faculty and staff and $10 for children 12 and under. The dinner includes a hand-served meal, live dinner entertainment, one theatre ticket, sales tax and gratuity.
