| EVENT: Rose State Visual Arts Series - Scandinavian art exhibit
As part of the Rose State College Visual Art Series, the exhibit “Scandinavia: Prosperous, Educated, Cultured and Diplomatic,” will be on display weekdays, through Nov. 18 from 8 a.m.-5 p.m. in the RSC Communications Center lobby. The exhibit provides a fascinating glimpse into Scandinavian life in Denmark, Iceland, Norway, Sweden and Finland through fine art, history, geography and culture. Featured artists are Sami artist Elle-Hansa of Tromso, Sapmi, Norway; Danish potter Birthe Flexner of Norman; Swedish-American artists America Meredith of San Francisco and Bob Peel of Oklahoma City; and Dorothy Iverson of Norman; with photographs by Edith Sonnevik Payne. The exhibit is presented by John Parrish in partnership with The Jacobson House Native Art Center in Norman, The Scandinavian Club of Oklahoma, the American Scandinavian Cultural Interest Group of Norman, and from the private collections of Birthe Flexner, Rick and Marilyn Sattre and Edith Sonnevik Payne.
