| EVENT: TCC hosts Fab Four impersonators If you can imagine The Beatles playing in concert with a symphony orchestra, then you should attend the Classical Mystery Tour Concert with Signature Symphony at Tulsa Community College (TCC), 8 p.m., October 29, at the VanTrease Performing Arts Center for Education (PACE), 10300 East 81st Street (U.S. Hwy 169 and 81st Street), Tulsa. Tickets are $20, $26, and $35 and are available by calling the PACE Box Office at 1-918-595-7977. The Classical Mystery Tour presents 20 Beatles tunes performed by original members of the Broadway sensation "BEATLEMANIA." The Fab Four impersonators perform the songs exactly as written, performing live in concert. The concert features Jim Owen (John Lennon) playing rhythm guitar and piano; Tony Kishman (Paul McCartney) playing bass guitar and piano; Tom Teeley (George Harrison) on playing lead guitar; and Chris Camilleri (Ringo Starr) playing drums. All four group members are vocalists. The Classical Mystery Tour has made more than 65 appearances in the last 8 years, including concerts with symphony orchestras in Detroit, Houston, Kansas City, Long Beach, Phoenix, and Pittsburgh. From the recent celebration of the 40th anniversary of the Beatles' triumphant visit to the United States, to the success of "The Beatles Anthology" and "The Beatles 1 Album," the demand for Beatles material is greater than ever. Many Beatles fans never had the opportunity to experience a live Beatles show. Classical Mystery Tour offers that live experience in the comfort of the PACE. The Symphony will be under the direction of Barry Epperley, D.M.A., artistic director, Signature Symphony, and director, TCC Performing Arts Institute. |
