EVENT: SWOSU Panorama Series 2009-10 DATE: Sept. 29-Feb. 23
Zombie expert and best-selling author Max Brooks will appear at Southwestern Oklahoma State University in Weatherford on Sept. 29 as part of the 2009-10 Panorama series. Brooks, the son of famous comedian Mel Brooks and actress Anne Bancroft, is considered by many to be one of the world's foremost Zombie preparedness experts. His humorous presentation, "Zombie Survival: Preparing for World War Z," will aid the SWOSU audience with the latest Zombie survival techniques. “Brooks has a big following across the nation and world,” said Brian Adler, chair of the SWOSU Panorama Committee. “His zombie preparedness is a pop culture thing that is popular with young people.” His presentation is at 7:30 p.m. in the Fine Arts Center. Admission is free. Three other events are planned during this year, and Adler said two of those events will also have free admission. The only event that will have an admission charge is comedian Demetri Martin. “The Panorama Committee decided to have several free events this year because we know families are having challenging economic times right now,” Adler said. Other Panorama dates and lineup are: All events begin at 7:30 p.m. and all events will be at the Fine Arts Center on the SWOSU campus.
