EVENT: RSC Jumpstart Program to Begin Rose State College will host its second annual “Jumpstart” Summer Bridge Program. The goal of the program is to help students increase their placement scores and make their transition to college easier. The six week program starts June 18 and runs through July 30. High school graduates, GED graduates and non-traditional students returning to the classroom for the first time are eligible and will benefit from the program. It is designed to improve college placement scores in math, reading and English. “Last year’s program was very successful. Students have access to Rose State College professors and peer tutors throughout the program,” said Linda Tucker, RSC professor and coordinator for mathematics and curriculum development director for Jumpstart. The program is free to students and those who complete the course will earn two college credits. Classes consist of lectures and computer based instructions with independent computer based study required. For more information about the Jumpstart Summer Bridge Program, call Linda Tucker at Rose State College at (405) 733-7556 or office of student life at (405) 733-7490. |
