| EVENT: 2nd Annual Tour De Cure at OSU-Tulsa Oklahoma’s serious cyclists and casual bike riders will join together on Saturday, June 25th for a ride that changes lives. Tulsa’s Tour de Cure, a one-day bicycle tour supporting the American Diabetes Association, raises funds to help find a cure for diabetes and support diabetes treatment, education and advocacy for both adults and children. The Tour de Cure will begin and end at Oklahoma State University-Tulsa, 700 North Greenwood Avenue, near I-244 and Detroit Avenue. There are four route lengths for riders of all cycling abilities, from the occasional rider to the experienced cyclist. Cyclists can participate in a 66-mile, 40-mile, 23-mile or 10-mile ride of their choice. Check-in for the event begins at 7 a.m. and cyclists will begin their rides at 7:30 a.m. Entry fees are $20 and each rider is required to bring $125 in donations to participate. In 2004, more than 26,000 cyclists participated in the nationwide event, which raised more than $7 million, a 27 percent increase from 2003.
