EVENT: OCCC partners with film editing software provider Oklahoma City Community College has become the exclusive authorized Avid Education Center for Oklahoma and is now one of 36 centers nationwide. Avid Technology, Inc. is the premier provider of digital editing and video production software and hardware to the commercial motion picture industry. Through the Film and Video Production program, the College and Avid have been working together for several years. The expansion of the relationship into the commercial marketplace is an outgrowth of that successful program. The College now possesses one of the largest collections of Avid machines in the Midwest. The Training Center, located on the fourth floor of the Library, has scheduled classes through July in Avid Express 3.5 software. The classes will be taught by an Avid Authorized instructor using the Avid curriculum and materials. Classes are for both beginners in digital editing (Avid 119) and experienced Avid users wanting to enhance their skills in "effects" (Avid 129). Those interested should call the Training Center at 682-7562 to enroll. Seating for each class is limited to 12 students. Additional information is available at the Avid website www.avid.com. |
