EVENT: RSC Continuing Education & Community
Services Division offering 'Kids College' youth camps The Continuing Education and Community Service Division at Rose State College will host "Kids College," a variety of youth camps, this summer. Youth ages 6-13 are invited to participate in any of the weekly camps to be held Monday, June 9 through Friday, July 18. Educational and recreational camps include Science Camp, Fit Kids Camp, Cheerleading Camp, All Sports Camp, Leadership Camp, Soccer Camp and Tennis Camp. Others include Survivor Challenge, Tap and Ballet, Character Acting, Who Dunnit Mystery, Cartooning, Supper Sitters, Tumbling, First Aid/CPR, Acting and Skits, Pom Pon/Dance, Developmental Reading, Developmental English, Developmental Math, Piano, Spanish, Creative Drama and Art. The all-day camps meet Monday-Friday, 9 a.m.-4 p.m., and mini-camps meet Monday-Friday, 9 a.m.-noon and 1-4 p.m. All camps will be held at various locations on campus. Early drop-off for students will be between 7:30-9 a.m. and late pick-up is from 4-5:30 p.m. Registration for all-day camps and programs is $65 per student and $35 for those enrolled in the mini-camps. Fees are $10 per student. All participants will receive a complimentary water bottle. All-day camp participants have access to supervised swimming activities each day. "The goal of the new Rose State College Kids College is to give children the ability to take part in an exciting approach to learning, sportsmanship, friendship and fun in a non-competitive and safe environment," said Bret Wood assistant director of Continuing Education and Community Services at RSC. "The children of Eastern Oklahoma County are the future of this College; it is never too early to get them on our campus and experience the positive Rose State environment."
