EVENT: 31st Annual Symposium on the American Indian:
“Native American Well-Being 2003: Traditions of Healing” Perspectives on Native American well-being, particularly the traditions of healing will be the focus of the 31st Annual Symposium on the American Indian held at Northeastern State University, University Center Ballroom, April 16 - 18. Hosted by the NSU Center for Tribal Studies, this special event will feature renowned speakers, discussion panels, cultural presentations and exhibits that are both educational and informative in nature. Symposium topics will include cultural well-being in the global Indian community; tribal well-being addressing tribal diversity, social welfare and sovereignty; physical well-being in relation to human and environmental health as well as ecology; spiritual well-being as it relates to personal values/beliefs, religion and sacred matters; language well-being, specifically the perpetuation of indigenous languages and future well-being, discussing the care for future generations.
