| EVENT: IT Security Conference at OU The universities of the Big 12 have partnered with Vigilar Inc. to offer the 2005 IT Security Conference Monday through Wednesday, April 25-27, at the University of Oklahoma. Because of the increasing online security issues facing businesses, organizations and institutions today, technology professionals must become proficient and stay abreast of the most cutting-edge security protocols, products and processes available, according to Dennis Aebersold, chief information officer and university vice president for information technology. “Online security has become as important as physical security to most businesses, organizations and institutions,” Aebersold said. “We feel that it is important to reach out to others and increase online security education and awareness of the IT professionals in our region. Through the IT Security Conference, participants will be better able to secure their own networks and help to improve the overall level of national online security as well.” Through this strategic education alliance, the IT Security Conference is being offered at a significant savings to all participants in an effort to increase the overall security of online networks and services nationwide.
