EVENT: SWOSU Panorama Series - Dallas Black Dance Theatre DATE: Feb. 23 Southwestern Oklahoma State University’s Panorama Series will wrap up the 2009-10 season with a Feb. 23 performance by the Dallas Black Dance Theatre on the Weatherford campus. Admission is free, and the public is invited to the 7:30 p.m. performance in the Fine Arts Center on the SWOSU campus. Founded in 1976 by Ann Williams, the mission of Dallas Black Dance Theatre is to create and produce contemporary modern dance at its highest level of artistic excellence through performances and educational programs that bridge cultures and reach diverse communities. The company employs a diverse, multi-ethnic troupe of dancers performing for audiences of all ages and backgrounds. Dallas Black Dance Theatre celebrates its 32nd season as the oldest, continuously operating professional dance company in Dallas. The ensemble, a contemporary modern dance company, consists of 13 professional, full-time dancers performing a mixed repertory of modern, jazz, ethnic and spiritual works by nationally and internationally known choreographers.
