EVENT: What the Press Forgets to Tell You "What the Press Forgets to Tell You" is the focus of Dr. Peter Phillips' presentation on Tuesday, Feb. 18, at Southwestern Oklahoma State University in Weatherford. Phillips is a professor at Sonoma State University in Rohnert Park, Calif., where he teaches classes in media censorship, power, class stratification and social welfare. He assumed the directorship of Project Censored in 1996 and his first book was Censored 1997: The News That Didn't Make the News from Seven Stories Press. Phillips has a long career in human service administration. His experiences include two decades of community service and social activism. Phillips is a fifth generation Californian. Everyone is invited to listen as Phillips shares his opinion on the powerful press in America. His talk begins at 7:30 p.m. in the Fine Arts Center on the SWOSU campus. Admission is free.
