EVENT: Engineering Design Challenge at OSU-Tulsa For the third consecutive year, Oklahoma State University-Tulsa has challenged local students to design, build and race a self-propelled, motorized watercraft for the university’s Engineering Design Challenge on Feb. 23. Student teams from several Tulsa and Stillwater middle schools and high schools will participate in the challenge at 9:30 a.m. in OSU-Tulsa’s Main Hall Commons. Dr. Carl Latino, OSU associate professor of engineering, hopes the design challenge will help get students interested and involved in engineering at a young age. “This challenge is an excellent opportunity for students to learn the basic principals of engineering design, problem-solving and teamwork in an environment that is fun and rewarding,” Latino said. Awards will be given in categories such as fastest boat, aesthetics and teamwork. For more information, call Ben Leslie at 918-594-8272. |
