| EVENT: Rose State Sponsoring Women and Leadership Luncheon In honor of Women’s History Month, the Rose State College Office of Intercultural Communication and Education is sponsoring the “Women and Leadership in the 21st Century” luncheon and panel discussion, Friday, March 25 at 11 a.m. in the Student Center Main Dining Room. The event is designed to recognize women in leadership roles in the community and give them a forum to share their successes and struggles. Panelists include Lt. Colonel Gwen Bates with the 137th Airlift Wing, Will Rogers Air National Guard Base; Ruth Cane, Midwest City councilwoman; Bonnie Cheatwood, executive director, Midwest City Chamber of Commerce; Tiffany DeLaughter, technical investigator, Midwest City Police Department; Rita Hannalt, priest, Saint Mary’s Episcopal in Edmond; Suzan Marmound, associate executive director, Midwest Regional Hospital, Midwest City; and Dr. Cheryl Steele, Mid-Del School District superintendent. They will discuss developing and maintaining self-confidence in a male-oriented society or profession, overcoming mistakes, lessons learned about appropriately handling power, career planning, developing career nurturing relationships in the work place, managing family and career and overcoming obstacles. Students from Rose State College and area high schools, TANF students and community members are encouraged to attend. The event is free and open to the public.
