Mikhail Gorbachev (left), president of the former Soviet Union, meets Dr. Mara Sukholutskaya (back to camera), associate professor of English and languages at East Central University, and ECU President Bill Cole at the Ada Municipal Airport Oct. 25. Gorbachev spoke to a capacity crowd in ECU’s Kerr Activities Center that evening. He and Sukholutskaya also walked through Wintersmith Park in Ada and ate at a Mexican restaurant on Main Street.
