Oklahoma State University-Tulsa hosted a unique multimedia exhibit Oct. 13. “Held in the Heartland” is a traveling exhibit housed in a converted school bus that illustrates historic stories and events through narrative texts, multi-media and artifacts. The exhibit was presented by TRACES, a nonprofit educational organization based in St. Paul, Minn.

Visitors to the “bus-eum” explored the exhibit about prisoner of war camps, including 31 in Oklahoma, during World War II. The organization’s goal was to present an unknown history to a wide audience, stimulating penetrating questions on the part of visitors to the exhibit.
