Belva Howard (left), chair of the Board of Regents of the Regional University System of Oklahoma, and Regent Connie Reilly (right) applaud with the audience after the investiture of Dr. Richard Rafes as East Central University’s seventh president on Sept. 28. Howard presented Rafes with the university medallion and Riley presented the university mace. The ceremony included music composed for the inauguration by two ECU faculty members and greetings from Chancellor Glen Johnson and representatives from RUSO, state government, the Chickasaw Nation, Ardmore Higher Education Center, ECU and the community.
