Northeastern State University fans stayed Rowdy when the RiverHawks mascot was revealed on Aug. 31.

The Rowdy RiverHawks was the most popular selected by voters through balloting and online voting.

Rowdy was the favorite of the five finalists, which also included Rally, Swoop, Talon and Rodney (Hot Rod). The finalists were announced at a special ceremony during the NSU Athletics Player Meet and Greet on Aug. 22.
