Rose State College Physics Professor Jim Gilbert and Engineering and Science Lab Specialist Stephen Lynch recently visited Traub Elementary in Midwest City, Okla. and helped sixth grade students build rockets and launch them from pop bottles. "The kids had a ‘blast’ with this educational math and science project and the school loved it,” Gilbert said. “Students designed two different rockets with different lengths and measured flight time and distance for each. The longest one went over 250 feet. Then they returned to the classroom to make graphs.” The students were from Mrs. Borden’s and Mrs. Collier’s sixth grade classes.
