Rose State students assist as Marines unload 23,000 books on campus. The books were delivered last month, with the help of a forklift, and will be distributed to area schools. Marine Gunnery Sergeant Norman Crowe, a Rose State student and Phi Theta Kappa member, coordinated the donation of the books, which are part of a donation to the Toys For Tots Campaign conducted by the U.S. Marine Corps each Christmas. These new books were donated by publishers and not used in the Toys for Tots Campaign. The book donation is part of the College's Phi Theta Kappa "Project Graduation--Feed a Body, Feed a Mind," during which children's books and food are collected for distribution in the community.
