East Central University reenacted the historic 1963 March on Washington Thursday, Jan. 14, including the delivery of Martin Luther King Jr.’s "I Have a Dream" speech by ECU student Jomain McKenzie.
Hundreds of students, faculty, staff and members of the community walked through the campus singing and remembering King’s legacy.
Many participants commented that this was the most moving experience they have had at ECU. The march was organized by ECU’s Human Diversity Committee and the CREW, ECU's student programming board, in connection with Martin Luther King Jr. Day on Jan. 18, the national holiday marking King's birth on Jan. 15.
