"The White Cockade," a 1944 oil on canvas by Walt Kuhn (U.S., 1877-1949) was one of 11 paintings recently bequeathed to the University of Oklahoma's Fred Jones Jr. Museum of Art by geologist Jerome M. Westheimer, Sr., of Ardmore. An oil industry leader and one of Oklahoma’s greatest supporters of the arts, Mr. Westheimer died Sept. 16, 2004, after a brief illness.
