Bricktown mosaic project brings community together ![]() After 20 years of working on the Oklahoma City Community College (OCCC) mosaic project, Mary Ann Moore thought she would be done with grids and frost-proof tiles for a while. But less than a year later, she has another massive undertaking – the Oklahoma Centennial Mosaic Mural. Moore, a professor of visual art at OCCC, started the project early this fall at an off-campus location in Bricktown. Read more. Capital bond funds headed to campuses The $475 million higher education capital bond issue completed the last procedural step recently, and Oklahoma public institutions can expect to begin receiving funds by the end of the year. OSU unveils aggressive new marketing campaign ![]() With a 115-year history of serving every corner of Oklahoma and a five-campus student enrollment approaching 33,000, Oklahoma State University is now using the tagline "The STATE's University" in an aggressive new marketing campaign aimed at increasing pride among students, faculty, staff, alumni and friends of the university. USAO students spend fall break cleaning up hurricane mess ![]() While others spent their fall break relaxing or shopping, a group of USAO students and staff headed to Biloxi, Miss., to help hurricane and flood victims. And it’s personal. These 25 volunteers assisted in the cleanup of a Biloxi neighborhood that includes the parents of USAO’s own Diane Carroll, secretary in academic affairs. Their home and thousands more were completely destroyed in the August and September hurricanes. Read more. |
