Record enrollments continuing throughout state system Students are still attending Oklahoma’s public colleges and universities in record numbers this fall. According to an Oklahoma State Regents for Higher Education report, preliminary fall enrollment figures show that total headcount is up 1.3 percent across the entire state system compared to fall 2003. A total of 181,590 students have enrolled in classes this fall, beating last fall’s record enrollment of 179,209 students. Read more. NSU-Broken Arrow breaks ground on expansion project
Higher education leaders, both local and statewide, joined Tulsa and Broken Arrow officials recently as Northeastern State University broke ground on its $26 million Broken Arrow campus expansion project, a Vision 2025 project. NSU’s growing presence in the Greater Tulsa Metropolitan Area received a significant vote of confidence on September 9, 2003 when Tulsa County voters overwhelmingly approved $26 million for the second phase of development at the University’s two-year-old Broken Arrow campus. Read more. CSI-UCO: forensic sciences program to receive $500,000 federal grant Oklahoma Congressman Ernest Istook and University of Central Oklahoma President W. Roger Webb recently announced that UCO would receive a $500,000 grant from the U.S. Department of Justice for the university’s Forensic Sciences program. The grant is part of the fiscal year 2004 appropriations and was sponsored by Istook. Read more. Rogers State to participate in Washington Center internship program Rogers State University has been selected to participate in a nationally recognized internship program that places students with private, public and nonprofit organizations in Washington, D.C. RSU expects to place three to six students in The Washington Center internship program starting in the spring semester. Read more.
