SWOSU offers economic modeling service Communities in Oklahoma often are faced with a variety of questions concerning economic and demographic growth, development and policy changes. An economic modeling service is now being offered to all communities across the state by the Center for Economic and Business Development at Southwestern Oklahoma State University in Weatherford. Northeastern State University announced six finalists for consideration as the institution’s new mascot at a press conference held recently in the Branscum Alumni Center. The finalists include Thunderhawks, Thunderbirds, Riverhawks, Riverwolves, War Eagles, and Wolves. Read more. Oklahoma Military Academy history chronicled on new DVD The complete story of the Oklahoma Military Academy, including detailed biographies of all cadets who walked through the doors of this esteemed military institute during its 53-year history, has been captured on an interactive DVD and is available to former cadets, their families, historians and the general public. The new DVD chronicles those killed in action while serving their country, the 10 distinguished U.S. generals who were once academy cadets and the historic buildings on the OMA campus, which is now Rogers State University in Claremore. At a recent psychology conference drawing thousands worldwide, five members of the University of Science and Arts community joined the nation’s top psychology experts and students to present research. Guest speakers at the event included celebrities “Dr. Phil” McGraw, Bill Cosby and a host of renowned psychologists. Read more.
